Women’s Soccer Wins 2025 Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Championship

CHULA VISTA, CA – The Jaguars delivered a conference championship to Chula Vista as Katelyn Romo's goal in the 53rd minute and Daisy Velez Barron's goal four minutes later in the second half proved to be plenty as the No. 17 Southwestern Jaguars (14-2-4, 12-2-2) defeated the Miramar Jets (11-6-4, 9-4-3) on Veteran's Day at Hourglass Field Community Park, formerly an auxiliary landing field for NAS Miramar. Aalliyah Campbell made five saves in the shutout victory – her 10th clean sheet of the season as the JAGS extended its unbeaten streak on the road to eight games

With the win, Southwestern secured its third Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title in the last eight seasons (2018, 2022, 2025).

Winning a championship is the pinnacle of college sports. Championships are hard fought over the course of a season, and difficult to come by for many reasons due to the competitive soccer landscape, reestablishing team chemistry and replacing key contributors at the two-year community college level, the weight of expectations, and the mental and physical grind of a season. After consecutive second place finishes, the Jags are well aware of the challenges and why it means so much to win a conference championship. Women's soccer at Southwestern has built a foundation for sustained success and excellence that includes outstanding coaching, a commitment to player development and a strong sense of team unity.

The 2025 PCAC Champions have earned an automatic berth in the 3C2A Southern California Regional Playoffs. Playoff seeding occurs on Monday, November 17 with Round 1 of the tournament scheduled to begin on Wednesday, November 19.

Nonetheless, the Jaguars now turn its attention to the final regular season match of the year on Friday, Nov. 14 at San Bernardino Valley (9-5-4).
