Women’s Soccer Blanks Miramar, 3-0
CHULA VISTA, CA – The Southwestern women's soccer team (8-1-3) collected its sixth Pacific Coast Athletic Conference victory, dominating the Miramar Jets (7-4-2) 3-0 on Friday, Oct. 10 at DeVore Stadium. The win brought the Jaguars to a 6-1-1 record in PCAC play after the match and placed them at the top of the conference standings.
Aaliyah Campbell was once again in goal for the Jaguars and registered eight saves--which puts her season total at 58.
Southwestern midfielder Karli Howard was able to break through and put a pair of shots in goal in the 22nd and 59th minutes. Roughly three minutes later, Rebeca Perez Smith secured SWC's final score of the night.
Heading into the matchup, Southwestern collected two wins at San Diego City (Oct. 3) and Imperial Valley (Oct. 7) with a combined score of 6-0.
UP NEXT
The Jaguars look to keep the momentum with two road matches this week to begin the second half of conference action. Southwestern will face Grossmont (2-5-3) on Tuesday and San Diego Mesa (3-5-4) on Friday.
