Women’s Soccer Defeats Palomar 2-0

CHULA VISTA, CA – Rebeca Perez and Genasis Carachure each recorded a goal as Southwestern (5-1-3) defeated Palomar (5-2-2) on Tuesday afternoon. 

The Jaguar's record is 3-1-1 in Pacific Coast Athletic Conference play.  The Jags recorded a draw against Mesa (Sept. 16) before picking up a victory at Cuyamaca (Sept. 19).  Southwestern dropped their first conference match of the season versus MiraCosta (Sept. 26).   

Melany Perez leads Southwestern with 8 goals scored and trio of Jags each have two goals so far this season (Genasis Carachure, Daisy Velez Barron, Rebeca Perez). Karli Howard, Alexandra Ramirez, Natalia Gregorio, Daisy Velez Barron, and Sydni Livingstone lead the team in assists with two. 

To date, Southwestern has outscored its opponents 19 to 6 taking 143 shots with 93 on goal. 

In goal, Aaliyah Campbell has saved 48 shots with six shutouts while playing 810 minutes.
