Women’s Soccer Cracks Top 10 Rankings
CHULA VISTA, CA – The unbeaten Southwestern College women's soccer team sits at 3-0-2 on the season, and a No. 10 ranking in the first poll from the California Community College Sports Information Association in 2025.
Having won its conference opener versus Grossmont (1-2-1) last Friday by six goals, including a four-goal performance by freshman forward Melany Perez, the Jaguars are the only school from the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference in the top 20 poll.
Defense, defense, and more defense. Southwestern has shut out four of their first five opponents of the season.
The Burgundy and Gold will return to action tonight vs. Mesa (1-4) with kickoff at DeVore Stadium slated for 6 p.m.
On Friday, Sept 19 the Jags will travel to Cuyamaca (0-4-1) for an afternoon encounter set for 2 p.m.
