Southwestern Softball Earns No. 14 Seed, SoCal Regional
CHULA VISTA, CA – Southwestern Softball earned a California Community College Regional bid, Mike Gross's first as a head coach.
The No. 14 seed Southwestern Jaguars enter the postseason with a 22-16 record and will be traveling to Walnut, CA to face the No. 4 seed Mt. San Antonio Mounties (29-11), automatic qualifiers from the South Coast Conference.
The Jags and Mounties last played in 2019, an eight-inning 6-7 hard-fought home loss for the Burgundy and Gold.
The Softball SoCal Regional Round 1 is a best of three, played over two days.
First pitch for Southwestern's postseason-opener against Mt. San Antonio is set for 4 p.m. Friday, May 1.

The 2026 3C2A softball tournament will consist of a two regional brackets (NorCal and SoCal) and a 34-team field leading to an eight team state championship format (4 teams from the north and four teams from the south).
Each conference earns two automatic qualifications as a result of conference victories, giving 12 programs a shot at an at-large selection using rating percentage index (RPI) in the decision process.
