Jonah Rodriguez tabbed Our Esquina’s 2025 College Football Latino All-American
January, 8, 2026
Southwestern College offensive tackle Jonah Rodriguez named to Esquina's 2025 College Football Latino All-American Team.
In the NCAA, Hispanic/Latino players have become a growing demographic, and participation continues to rise across Division I, II, and III. In 2024-25, there were 38,654 Hispanic/Latino student-athletes and over the past decade, participation has increased by 14,792 student-athletes (62%).
Latino athletes like Fernando Mendoza (QB, Indiana), Diego Pavia (QB, Vanderbilt), are making a significant impact on college football like never before, alongside standouts like KC Concepcion (WR, Texas A&M), Josh Cuevas (TE, Alabama) and Jacob Rodriguez (LB, Texas Tech).
All-America status is a national recognition reserved for the nation's best at their position in their sport. While Power 4 and Group of 6 players tend to sweep major accolades like All-America, Southwestern's Jonah Rodriguez is the only non NCAA Division I (P4, G6, FCS) player selected as a 2025 College Football Latino All-American. Division and conference affiliation matters, but talent shines and performance is paramount.
OT: Jonah Rodriguez, Southwestern Jaguars
A block of granite tone-setter with legitimate power, competitive toughness and finishing ability at tackle. The prototype of what you look for in a Power 4 offensive lineman with athleticism to drive defenders off their spot or redirect rushers. Rodriguez helped lead the Jaguars to an 8-win bowl championship season (the most National Division wins in program history). Rodriguez was arguably the best offensive lineman in the State of California. He earned unanimous All-SCFA National Division | Southern League, First Team honors and paved the way for an unprecedented No. 4 ranking in the State and No. 13 nationally for Southwestern.
