Jaguars Drop Third in a Row

CHULA VISTA, CA – Southwestern (6-3, 3-3 National Southern) had an ugly performance against the Saddleback Bobcats (8-1, 6-0) in Week 9 and the losing streak has now reached three games.

After a 7-0 lead and consecutive stops on defense, Southwestern struggled in multiple facets of the game with the Jags leaning on various players pressed into starting roles in recent weeks due to injuries the team has been dealing with. In the 7-48 loss, there was a good amount of mistakes to go around. A lot of self-inflicted issues and a lot of inexplicable penalties. The Jaguars lacked discipline, emotional readiness, sharp focus, and physical effort and allowed themselves to be put in a position to get drummed and that's what happened. It is what it is - no excuses.

The Southwestern College Jaguars are getting set for a matchup against the Chaffey Panthers (1-8, 0-6), with a shared commitment to compete and perform. With one game to go, it will all be about finishing National Southern league play strong to get into the best bowl game possible. It is time for the Jaguars to play to their potential and handle their business. It is an excellent opportunity to get back into the win column against a desperate one win opponent. The team certainly won't take anything for granted, especially with how poorly the Jags played last Saturday.
